Schedule your holiday portrait!

Early November is a great time to schedule your holiday portrait. It may seem early to think about Christmas, but scheduling your portrait now allows time to have your portrait taken, choose your Christmas card design, and receive your cards without leaving you in a rush to get them in the mail. I offer a variety of card design options that can accommodate one or more photos from your session. Email or call me at (717) 418-9260 to schedule.6-panel front2-sided 5x7Surprise!

Meet Rico

If you've come to the studio to do a portrait, you may have been lucky enough to meet my assistant, Rico. Rico is always willing to pose (which helps during lighting adjustment), but he does not often help with other tasks. He refuses to carry light stands, build sets, and adjust strobes, but he's often the only help I can get when I'm working on a set late in the evening. He's also a great listener.Rico!Hanging with RicoThere are occasional disagreements...

Paul - Mechanicsburg High School Senior

Paul is a local senior with big plans, and he was a great subject for his portraits. We were able to capture a number of poses that I'm really pleased with.Great subjectNo trespassing occurredB&WTenor saxGentleman, scholar, etc.Chains

More from St. Patrick's

I received so many comments from folks who'd seen the photo of St. Patrick's Cathedral in my last post that I thought I'd share some more. If you enjoy these three, there are several others to see at my New York City gallery.Altar and pulpitWindows and organ pipesCeiling and pulpit

Five Years Proud

I'm a big fan of Studio families, so I worked hard to complete this year's recital DVD in record time. If you don't want to wait for summer lessons to pick yours up, contact Ms. Jennifer. If you haven't yet ordered a DVD and want one, let me know.To hold you over until you can watch the DVD, I've posted a number of photos from the recital and dress rehearsal (same password as spring photos). Prints are specially priced through the end of June. A few highlights appear below.Thank you again for a great year.FinaleYou'll see a shot like this on the DVD menuA pose inspired by their danceShe came up with her own pose!Three lovely dancersBest of luck, Kelsi!

Caitlin and my new favorite barn

Caitlin and her mother arrived at the studio thinking they were having a few simple standard portraits done, but I talked them into accompanying me to a new location I'd scouted near the studio. They were both good sports, with Caitlin postponing a shopping trip and her mom aiming my reflector for me. They both did a fantastic job.Don't worry - we didn't pass the signCaitlin - 109Caitlin-125Caitlin - 137Caitlin - 112 - painted2

Jen & Dave & [TBA1] & [TBA2]

To say that maternity photography can sometimes be a bit over the top would be an understatement. (There - I said it.) Jen and Dave knew that, too, and I think we were able to approach this special time in their lives with a sense of fun that came out in their portraits. They're great to work with, and we're really looking forward to meeting their little ones.Dave is a numbers guyDave can't competeThis one begged to be painted

Kelsi's announcements

Kelsi, a local senior who is more famously known as the organizer of One Dress at a Time, was our senior rep this past year. We just got her graduation announcements put together, and I think she and her mom chose some great photos to use. I may be looking forward to receiving the finished announcements from the printer more than they are!Kelsi's announcements - frontKelsi's announcements - inside flapKelsi's announcements - inside

Thanks, Studio families!

Last Saturday was a very busy day. We shot over 1400 pictures during 13 hours. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the Studio families for your help. Due to your preparation, promptness, and patience, we were able to stay on schedule throughout the day. I think I even had time to enjoy a Shamrock Shake at some point (thanks, Lissa).Your photos are uploading to the following galleries now: Monday classes, Tuesday classes, Wednesday classes, and Thursday classes. Friday students are pictured with Monday or Thursday students (depending on which class they perform with). You can order photos directly from those galleries (where individual prints are slightly less expensive) or using an order form from the studio (from which you can order a package).Thank you again for your cooperation. I hope you enjoy your pictures. Please don't hesitate to contact me with questions or special orders.Next up: ballerinas

Dance picture day!

My busiest day of the year is this Saturday (which leads me to believe I should be in bed right now). I'll be photographing over 150 dancers from The Studio, some of whom will have their picture taken in four different costumes. It's a full day, to say the least, but also a lot of fun. Please understand if it's a few days before my next post.Ready to goA sunny smile with a sunny dressThey look happy to be sistersOne foot - no problemHer toes are tougher than mine

Do I shoot pets?

I didn't set out to be a pet shooter, but now I look forward to the opportunity to spend time with owners and their loved ones. Getting a dog to perk its ears up can be more difficult than getting a 2-year-old to stay on set, but the result is rewarding. One of the best-behaved doggies I know
